Mourning
"Mourning" explores the narrative of police brutality in America. The painting portrays 27 Black Americans who were murdered by police brutality or other acts of racism. Accompanying the art is a book entitled "A Guide to Mourning", where each person is identified and narrates the story of the events that led up to their death. These works were created in a response to the need of having a voice.
